Cash Transactions Ban At Domestic Help Offices And Exhibitions

14 August 2022 Kuwait

Two decisions by Kuwait's Commerce and Industry Minister Fahad Al-Shuraian ban cash payments at domestic help offices and exhibitions, regardless of whether the exhibitors are Kuwaitis or foreigners.

First, the Public Authority of Manpower and the Commerce Ministry commit companies and domestic help offices not to deal with cash when processing contracts and transactions.

In accordance with the central bank's rules, payments should be debited from the customer's account via non-cash means. Establishments that violate this rule will be closed down and investigated. Secondly, companies that are under the commerce ministry's supervision and participate in all types of exhibitions in Kuwait, regardless of whether the exhibitors are from Kuwait or abroad, are not allowed to receive cash payments.
