Cabinet Formed A Committee With Membership Of Advisor To Study The Citizenship File
Cabinet has formed a committee with membership of advisor at the Amiri Diwan Ali Al- Rashed, former Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Nayef Al-Ajmi, Head of Fatwa and Legislation Department Salah Al-Musaed and a former MP to study the citizenship file, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily quoting parliamentary sources said the primary responsibility of the committee is to look into the citizenship files of Abdullah Al-Bargash and Saad Al-Ajmi, and it’s scheduled to complete its mission on April 3, 2017.
However, government sources disclosed that the committee will study accrued citizenship files, which the MPs talked about at their meeting with HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
They pointed out that the committee is not restricted to a specific time frame on its mission, indicating it’ll be given enough time to find lasting solutions to the issue. Meanwhile, a meeting of parliament’s Negative Phenomenon Committee recently witnessed an incident, which MP Safa Al-Hashim considers as an “act of racism and discrimination against women”, reports Al-Rai daily.
Different
Reportedly, MP Al-Hashim went to the committee meeting shortly before it began and she placed her name card next to the Head of the Committee Mohammad Hayef.
Hayef arrived late at 12:30pm and sat on a different place, requesting for his name card to be shifted. When Al-Hashim said she, being the oldest member, started the meeting because Al- Hayef was late, he replied by saying, “You do not have the right to start the meeting in the presence of the committee rapporteur”.
To this, Al-Hashim responded by asking, “Why don’t you want to sit next to me? Is there anything wrong with me?”. Hayef did not reply to her questions, choosing to say, “In the name of Allah, we begin this meeting”. This infuriated Al-Hashim who then said, “This is racism and discrimination against women”.
She then took her file and left the meeting, saying, “O’ Sadaam Hussain, God should not make your life long”. She was still angry when she reached the room where the journalists were sitting and they heard her say, “Those who do not show respect to the National Anthem will not respect citizens. This is racism and discrimination against women”.
