Cabinet Approves Postponing Loan Installments

The Cabinet submitted to H H the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al Sabah 3 laws that include a law on financing local banks for clients affected by the repercussions of the Coronavirus crisis, a law on postponing loan installments and dealing with the effects of the spread of the virus, and a law amending some provisions of Law No. 17 of 1960 issuing the Procedures Law and the criminal trials Arabic daily Al Rai reported.

In its weekly meeting on Monday chaired by H H the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, the Council of Ministers approved supporting and ensuring the financing of local banks for clients affected by the repercussions of the Coronavirus crisis and postponing loan installments. They also approved a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 17 of 1960 promulgating the Code of Criminal Procedures and Trials

The Cabinet also listened to an explanation provided by the Minister of Health about the latest developments in the health situation in the country, based on statistics and data on the latest developments over the past week regarding the number of cases that have been confirmed to be infected with the virus and the number of recoveries who receive treatment in intensive care, as well as the numbers death cases, which are witnessing a significant increase which is unprecedented since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Cabinet warned of the effects resulting from negligence in adhering to the precautions and preventive measures issued by the health authorities, including the acceptance of taking the vaccine, as it is considered safety and health for the individual and society as a whole.

The Cabinet also examined the recommendations of the Ministerial Committee for Corona Emergencies, and decided to assign the Ministry of Health to provide the Ministry of Education’s requests for the application of health requirements and precautionary measures (masks – sterilizers and disinfectants – thermometers – and other preventive equipment) necessary to hold the second semester exams for the 2020-2021 high school year.
