Roudhan Launches New E-mechanism For Smes
Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan has introduced a new electronic mechanism to submit, register, accept and fund youth projects with the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), to which the government has allocated 2 billion dinars, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.
The same sources told the daily, Al-Roudhan has opened this mechanism to all young people wishing to obtain financial support from the fund in total transparency and equality to give opportunity for all youth without any barriers, exceptions, obstacles or interviews to all. The sources explained that by introducing this privileged mechanism the rights of young applicants will be preserved in terms of the priority of submitting the application. The registration date and hour will be recorded electronically.

The new electronic mechanism, sources say, has enabled young people, either alone or through partners, to implement the directives of the political leadership to achieve more support for young people who may not be able to meet the requirements and conditions of submission of applications on their own.
The sources said, perhaps the most important advantage is that applicants can, through the secret code, learn about the stage of the request, as well as notify the applicants who have been accepted to visit the Fund Center in the Mansouriya to submit the original documents and complete the procedures to receive support to launch the project. Sources stressed the new mechanism also gives the legal right for the Fund because it includes a pledge to be signed by the applicants to confirm the validity of the data and documents submitted and assume full responsibility in the event of incorrect data or documents.
The fund is an institution that develops and finances individual projects owned by Kuwaitis with up to 80% of the capital. The Fund’s vision is to build a pioneering society that motivates entrepreneurs to innovate and achieve economic development opportunities in Kuwait. Meanwhile, the Director of the Doha East Electricity and Water Production Plant said Thursday the station is ready to supply power and water during the summer season, reports Al-Anba daily.
He told the daily that the high efficiency of the units after annual maintenance and completion of operational tests has been confirmed and the same applies to the water distillation units which can produce up to 6 million imperial gallons of water per day as a result of its ongoing conservation since the plant was built in the late 1970s.
The director pointed out that the maintenance work is under way in accordance with the annual maintenance schedule approved by the ministry, explaining that these works are on the verge of completion, coinciding with the arrival of the summer and rising temperatures. He explained that 5 units out of 7 units operating at Doha East Station have been completed for the generation of electric power. As for the gas units, the maintenance has been completed in full, and the maintenance of 5 distillates out of 7 working turbines has been completed
