Britain Backs Kuwaiti Mediation

First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Shaikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah hailed British support to Kuwaiti-led efforts to resolve the GCC crisis.

This came as he received British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, in the presence of State Minister for Cabinet Affairs and Information Minister Shaikh Mohammad Abdallah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister also hailed longstanding ties with Britain, according to a Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry statement.

Johnson also called on all sides involved to contain the stalemate and hastily resolve the GCC crisis through dialogue.

He also reiterated Britain's support of Kuwaiti mediation efforts to resolve the crisis led by the Amir of Kuwait Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
