Border Guard Patrols Arrested 165 For Trespassing Into Prohibited Zone At Saudi Border

The border guard patrols arrested 165 people for trespassing the buffer zone at the Saudi frontiers. The arrested person were looking for mushrooms at Hafr Al-Baten, reported local Arabic daily Al-Riyadh. The lawbreakers were referred to the Border Guard Legal Affairs Directorate to face legal action.

Earlier, authorities had issued a statement urging people not to trespass the 20-kilometre buffer zone at the border.

Anyone violating the law regarding entering the prohibited zone risk 30-month prison term and/or a fine of SR25,000.
