Booster Dose Drive Launched In Nurseries Tied To Special People
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Community Development launched on Thursday, a vaccination campaign (the third booster dose) of the anti-Coronavirus vaccine for workers and employees of nurseries concerned with the affairs of people with special needs. In a statement to reporters on the sidelines of the launch of the vaccination campaign, Undersecretary of the Ministry Abdulaziz Shuaib said that this campaign is the third and aims to give 600 booster doses to the workers and employees of 36 nurseries, praising the efforts of nurseries owners and their constant keenness to vaccinate their workers and employees and their interest in the awareness and health aspects of children. Shuaib added that the inspection teams of the ministry’s Nurseries Department work around the clock to follow up on the work of nurseries, whether through prior or post-publication supervision to ensure their compliance with the controls and requirements regulating their work and to avoid any violations or observations that are investigated.
Monitoring
He stated that the health requirements team of the Council of Ministers is closely monitoring the work of nurseries to determine the extent to which health precautions are adhered to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 “especially among children whom we keep in mind.” Regarding the transfer of child nurseries’ affiliation from the Ministry of Social Affairs to the Ministry of Education, Shuaib said that nurseries are still under the supervision of the Social Affairs, pointing out that there are some proposals and recommendations to transfer their affiliation to the Education, but they are still under study and research in all aspects. He stated that it is premature to talk about the transfer decision until the necessary requirements are provided to complete the matter, which will be determined by the two ministries, but until that time, the Ministry of Social Affairs remains entrusted with everything related to nurseries.
On the other hand, Shuaib stressed that out of keenness to expand the use of automated systems to allow the completion of transactions without incurring the trouble of reviewing the facilities of the Ministry of Social Affairs, nurseries were included in the automation systems. He said that there is a complete strategic plan for the advancement of this vital sector, including the automated linking between nurseries and relevant government agencies such as the Civil Information and Manpower Authority, in addition to the Kuwait Municipality, the Ministry of Health and the Fire Force, to ensure the safety of technical and legal requirements for expatriate workers to ensure ease of licensing and renewal.
