Blogger Gets 3 Yrs Jail

The Criminal Court sentenced a Twitter user to three years in prison with hard labor for insulting HH the Amir. The court also ordered the confiscation of the mobile phone of the accused and deletion of the tweets in question. The Public Prosecution charged the accused with publicly challenging HH the Amir by tweeting about his rights and authority, as well as misusing a means of communication – mobile phone – when he posted the above-mentioned tweets.
