Bill To Compensate Smes, Negotiate Salaries Of Employees
National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim announced that he and a large group of deputies submitted a law draft. The law would require the government to compensate owners of small and medium, and micro-enterprises, for the damages they suffered from the government measures taken to control the spread of coronavirus, Al Qabas reported.
Al-Ghanem also said the law would also allow employers and expat workers to reach an “understanding” under the prevailing economic conditions. “Why should we reach the point of either firing (expat) employees or they sue their employers for non-payment of salaries,” Ghanem told reporters at the Assembly.
Al-Ghanim expressed his hope that the session scheduled to be held today (Tuesday) would include recommendations for an urgent request for the legislative and financial committees to finalize as soon as possible these laws that address and contribute to mitigating the negative effects on employers and owners of medium and small enterprises.
Speaker also said yesterday that there would be a consensus with the government to compensate those affected for the damages that have been caused to them, pointing out that this is related only to medium, small and micro enterprises, and the law will clearly and clearly define them so that other interpretations are not interpreted as a service to certain parties.
