Bid To Smuggle Cigarettes Foiled

Customs officers at the Nuwaiseeb border post have foiled the attempt of an unidentified man to smuggle 40 cartons of cigarettes to a neighboring country, reports Al-Anba daily. Security sources said the cartons were hidden in a secret compartment of his vehicle. The car has been impounded. The contraband and the smuggler have been referred to the authorities.
