The Criminal Court presided over by Judge Fahad Al-Ateeqi acquitted a Bedoun resident who was accused of possessing 32 pills of methamphetamine intended for sale and consumption, and of driving a vehicle under narcotics infl uence.

According to the police statement, patrol officers had spotted a heavily dented vehicle on King Fahad Expressway, and ordered the driver to pull over. While conducting routine identification check, the officers spotted a black bag on the passenger seat with some residues, which was later discovered to be narcotic pills. The defense counsel Lawyer Bashar Al-Nasser stressed that his client was illegally pulled over by the officers, and that the law enforcer failed to follow proper legal procedures.

The defense team also managed to prove that the vehicle had no dents that warranted the procedures which his client underwent. Lawyer Al-Nassar stressed that the accusations leveled against his client are malicious, and that the court ought to acquit him on basis that the procedures taken by the prosecution were illegal in the eyes of the law.
