Ban On 34 Countries Remains In Effect; Quarantine Is 14 Days – Stick To Health Rules
The Ministry of Health has not recommended any amendment to the quarantine period for travelers entering the country – the quarantine period is still 14 days, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources from the health sector.
Sources said that the list of countries whose nationals are banned from entering the country remains in effect and no amendment has been done so far. Sources clarified no decision has been taken in terms of the proposals regarding the list of banned countries and the quarantine period, indicating the health authorities are still studying these proposals.
Speaking to the daily, health sector officials affirmed that the ministry is closely monitoring developments in the epidemiological situation of the virus locally and internationally.
The ministry is coordinating round the clock with the World Health Organization (WHO) to follow up developments on ways to deal with people who are infected with corona and those who had direct contact with them, sources disclosed.
Sources also confirmed the availability of updates, especially on the period of isolation for the infected, those who had direct contact with them or those entering the country.
Sources stressed the need for citizens and residents to cooperate with the health authorities by following the regulations related to corona in order to ensure that the health system and its workers are not overstretched since the beginning of the pandemic in late February.
Sources emphasized the importance of adhering to regulations on social distancing; avoiding touching the eyes, mouth and nose; covering the mouth when coughing; and cleaning the hands regularly.
