Awaiting The Go-ahead Signal For Hajj Campaigns

23 May 2022 Hajj And Umrah

Hajj season is near, but for campaign organizers and for people thinking about performing Hajj this year, the general picture remains unclear.

Engineer Farid Emadi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, did not succeed in making any progress last Thursday at the meeting of the Union of Hajj Caravans, according to a local Arabic daily.

However, a well-informed source told CNN that the Awqaf Ministry has issued a circular, warning organizers that they must adhere to the circular and not register pilgrims' names for the current season until it determines the quota for nationalities and then set the price, which they plan to begin at 1500 dinars onward in order to meet the needs of those with limited financial resources.

It was reported that Emadi agreed to delay registering pilgrims until the cost modalities at the camps in the holy sites have been worked out at the meeting with the Federation of Hajj Caravans.
