Authorities Divided Over Plan To Impose Lockdown In Chalets & Farms During Eid
The Council of Ministers during its weekly meeting will look into what it described as a ‘difference of opinion’ within the government ranks about imposing lockdown on the chalets and farms areas during the Eid Al-Adha holiday until the beginning of the third stage of the plan to return the country to normalcy, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
However, the sources told the daily some members of the Council are adopting this option and support extending the ‘second stage’ curfew for an additional 10 days after the Eid Al-Adha holidays before the country returns to normal life. However, the sources hinted that there is another opinion within the Cabinet concerning the proposals to impose lockdown on chalets and farms and to extend curfew in the second stage.
Proposals
Sources said both proposals have contrasting views about the recent decisions to ease curfews and open lockdown areas, opening of malls, supermarkets and retail centers.
The sources emphasized the second party looks at the whole world which have lifted restrictions in all areas of life, and say it may not be logical or acceptable to impose isolation on chalets and farms at a time when most of the countries have opened their airports and begun commercial flights.
On the other hand, the sources revealed about 8,500 citizens have submitted requests to the Saudi embassy in Kuwait to allow them to enter the Kingdom for medical purposes.
