Authorities Arrest 2 Over Abuse Video That Went Viral

Ministry of Interior announced that security forces arrested a bedoon man who appeared in a video circulated over social media networks while assaulting, insulting and humiliating the Egyptian.

According to MoI announcement, the incident shown in the video took place almost 18 months earlier and said that the suspect made a detailed confession noting that he did so because of a theft from the mobile phone store he owns in Ahamdi where the Egyptian works.

The directorate also said that another Egyptian was also arrested for shooting the video and then posting it online on social media. The suspect justified posting the video after such a long period by having some financial disputes with the main suspect.

The victim was also summoned to complete the investigations. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress pending referring the two suspects to public prosecution.
