Attack On Mp Draws Scorn

15 January 2022 Kuwait

A number of MPs reacted to the attack of media personality Fajr Al-Saeed on MP Hassan Jawhar by imitating the latter’s Persian accent. Some bloggers called for referring Al-Saeed to the Public Prosecution for violating the Social Unity Law. MP Abdulkareem Al-Kandari said any attempt to victimize Jawhar will be condemned. MP Fares Al-Otaibi stressed that Jawhar is a highly respected political figure who gives lessons to others on free speech and representing the people. He added that out of tune voices will never succeed in disrupting the national fabric.

MP Muhannad Al-Sayer praised Jawhar, describing him as one of the most honest personalities. He asserted that Jawhar’s talks behind closed doors are similar to his talks in public. MP Saleh Zeib Al-Mutairi stressed that offending any component of the society is totally rejected. He disclosed that he is close to Jawhar, so he is confident about the latter’s patriotism and loyalty to Kuwait.

Meanwhile, the parliamentary Sports Affairs Committee will meet on Sunday to discuss the bill submitted by several MPs to amend the relevant law on full time sports profession. The Public Utilities Committee will also meet on Sunday to discuss the rising prices of fodder and food security with the representatives of the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) and Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company. The Financial and Economic Affairs Committee on Sunday will tackle the establishment of the North Economic Zone with representatives of the Ministry of Finance and State Ministry for Municipal Affairs.
