Asian Expat Breathes Last As Firemen Have Busy Day Tackling Many Blazes
An Asian expatriate died due to a fire that broke out in the Capital Security Operations building. A police officer sustained injuries in his hand while trying to rescue the victim.
According to sources, when the Control Room of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) received information about the fire, fire-fighters rushed to the location and discovered an Asian expatriate was trapped at the location where the fire broke out. He was alive when firefighters rescued him but he died on the way to the hospital. A police officer sustained injuries in his hand while trying to rescue him.
Fire-fighters extinguished the fire before it spread further. Preliminary investigations revealed that a short circuit in one of the air-conditioning units is the reason for the fire. Further investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, a man, his son, two housemaids and a houseboy suffered from smoke inhalation when fire broke out in a house in Mubarak Al-Kabeer area. Fire-fighters rushed to the location after receiving information about the house on fire.
They rescued the five individuals who were trapped inside the fire and referred them to paramedics who treated the victims at the site. Fire-fighters extinguished the fire within a short time before it spread further.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire. Also, fire broke out in the chalet of a cement factory in Sulaibiya Industrial Area. When the Control Room of KFSD received information about the fire, firefighters rushed to the location within five minutes and discovered that the fire had spread over an area of 1,500 square meters.
They extinguished the fire within a short time. No casualties were reported. In addition, four chalets of prefabricated material were engulfed in flames, which were extinguished by firefighters without any casualties. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
