The Bangladeshi newspaper, Dhaka Tribune, reported that the Secretary-General of the ruling party in Bangladesh announced that he will ask the Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate the matter, and reiterated the position taken by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to fight corruption.
The government stated, according to the newspaper, the government will take legal steps against the accused, if the allegations about his involvement in human trafficking are proven true.
The newspaper quoted the Minister of Transport and Bridges as telling reporters: “Legal measures will be taken if there is any complaint of corruption against the parliamentarian.”
