An Anti-smoking And Cancer Control Fund Will Help 5,000 Patients

20 April 2022 Kuwait

Jamal Al-Saleh, Director of the Kuwait Society for Combating Smoking and Cancer's Cancer Patients Fund, said that since its inception in 1994, the fund has offered material and in-kind help to 5,000 patients and spent around 1.95 dinars on its own initiative.

"During the month of Ramadan, the fund receives many calls from cancer patients who thank the fund for continuing to support them, thanks to God, and the continued support of donors to the fund to continue to reach the largest number of patients who need this aid," Al-Saleh told a local Arabic daily.

He noted that this support fits their requirements and helps them and their families cope with the effects of cancer. The fund gives monthly financial assistance to persons who have lost their jobs as a result of their treatment and are unable to pay for x-rays, tests, and other medical expenses. Not just for the patients, but also for their relatives, the fund is a huge help.

Al-Saleh stated that continuing to provide assistance to patients in various forms improves their mental health and provides positive support for their quality of life, noting that those in charge of the Cancer Patients Fund are speeding up the procedures for delivering aid, paying for examination costs, and doing everything they can to relieve the patient.
