Al-shaya: Establishing A Company To Ensure Food Security

Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Shaya Al-Shaya Monday called on the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) to establish a company whose task will be to ensure food security in the country.

Al-Shaya said in a press statement the company will have a mandate to purchase all types of national produce at reasonable prices to promote local products without compromising on the quality and sustainability of the products.

He indicated that he has officially informed the PAAAFR Chairman that the issue be placed on the table for the authority’s Board of Directors to study and expedite the implementation.
