‘all Adhere To Awqaf Instructions’

04 May 2021 Ramadan

Thousands of people observed night prayers on the first night of the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan in various mosques in the country except for the mosques in the six areas – Hawally, Nugra, Maidan Hawally, Salmiya, Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh and Mahboula – as per the decision of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs due to the high density, reports Al-Anba daily. All the imams and worshipers adhered to the instructions issued by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs to ensure the prayers do not exceed 30 minutes.

he women’s prayer halls were closed, and the external squares of the mosques were crowded with worshipers who rejoiced at the return of those blessed nights as well as for allowing night prayers to take place after a year when the mosques were closed during Ramadan. The Qiyam prayer began after 12 midnight in adherence to the health requirements in force in the mosques. The mosques were closed after each prayer, and vigil (i’tikaaf) and holding of lectures, lessons and other activities were prevented.

The worshipers committed to wearing masks, using personal praying mats, and ensuring physical separation between them. The imams urged those who did not receive the Coronavirus vaccine to perform prayers at home. They also called on the elderly, people with chronic diseases and immunocompromised people to perform the Qiyam prayers in their homes. In their prayers, the imams prayed to Allah to protect Kuwait, its leadership and its people from all evil and harm, and for the pandemic to be lifted from all of humanity.
