Al-durra Company To Open Branches In 6 Governorates - No Excemption For Fingerprint Attendancde
Al-Durra Company, which was formed recently to hire domestic workers, is now preparing for the opening of its branches in the six governorates and the launching of its website for the recruitment of household workers from abroad, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a reliable source from the company.
The source stressed that the website will be comprehensive as it includes pages for employers to view the curriculum vitae and photographs of applicants, in addition to the rights and duties of both the employers and workers.
The source confirmed the company will charge reasonable fees which are lower than the current cost of hiring domestic workers from abroad, indicating there is no external office for the company at the moment and it will deal with mediators to protect the workers. Board Chairman of the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) Eng Faisal Al-Hasawi has affirmed that all departments and sectors in the authority fully abide by the recent decision of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) that no one is exempted from the fingerprint attendance system and offi- cial work hours, reports Al-Anba daily.
In a press statement, Al-Hasawi disclosed the authority issued a circular to all of its departments and sectors on the cancellation of exemptions from the fingerprint attendance system. Further, the transaction of restaurant operators via ‘Easiest Service’ system of the Public Authority for Manpower is currently hit by series of obstacles under the pretext of facilitating procedures and controlling the labor market, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily quoting a source said the authority has since stopped overseas recruitment applications for the permitted number of workers in the aforementioned activity as per agreement with the Association of Restaurants. He noted the new system does not respect the administrative decision that allows issuance of work permits for 50 percent of workers, indicating the ‘Easiest Service’ program permits the authority to grant a quota of 25 percent to companies and establishments. He explained the new system refuses the recommended percentage for restaurant activities by the authority, because it doesn’t have exemptions and it has become a serious obstacle against the efforts of restaurant owners in obtaining work permits. He reiterated the affected operators have approached Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, the State Minister for Economic Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh and acting Director General of the authority Ahmad Al-Mousa demanding the case to be looked into as a matter of urgency to avoid frustration.
