Aim Of Traffic Rules Is To Save Lives, Property Of Road-users
Specialized Training Center at General Traffic Department organized a lecture for raising awareness among the detainees who committed major traffic violations about the dangerous consequences of such violations. According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the lecture was attended by acting Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh, Acting Director of Specialized Training Center Colonel Salem Al-Ajmi, Acting Director of Traffic Violation Investigation Department Colonel Mohammad Al-Otaibi and Head of Department of Surgery at Al-Razi Hospital Dr Omar Mandani.
The General Department of Public Relations and Media Security at Ministry of Interior said the lecture is part of the new concepts aimed at spreading traffic awareness.
Meanwhile, Al-Sayegh highlighted the dangers of committing traffic violations, stressing that the aim of the traffic law is to preserve the lives and properties of road users. He indicated that the ministry is studying a suggestion to obligate those who commit major violations to provide social services in certain places for reducing the period their vehicles are seized.
In addition, Dr Omar Mandani said traffic accidents result in a huge number of injuries among victims including permanent disabilities, as well as large number of deaths. He indicated that many of the victims who sustain injuries in such accidents express remorse and sorrow because of the state they find themselves in.
