Ahmadi Fire Controlled

Firefighters had controlled a fire inside a factory that manufactures motors oil in Ahmadi area , the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) said Thursday.
KFSD's operations section was informed about the outbreak inside the 1,000-square-meter factory, which contained 250,000 liters of oil, in Ahmadi area, Lieutenant General Youssef Al-Ansari, KFSD's Director General noting that the fire consumed 500,000 water gallons and 12,000 foam gallons.


The incident caused injuries among firefighters, mostly due to heat exhaustion, he said, adding that they received immediate treatment by medical emergency staff.
The directorate's investigation unit is currently gathering all necessary information to find out causes of the fire, he added, noting that the incident also caused property damage.
In this context, Al-Ansari called on industrial and commercial properties' landlords to follow security and safety instructions in order to avoid such accidents in the future, especially with current rise of temperature in the country.


Meanwhile, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah expressed , in a press statement today, his gratitude and appreciation for efforts exerted by firefighters in protecting properties and lives , and for their quick response and dealing with fires and other different incidents in the country.
