After An Altercation With Locals, A Kuwaiti Tourist Was Attacked In Egypt

Kuwait's Ambassador to Cairo H E Ghanem Saqr Al-Ghanim said the Kuwait Embassy in Cairo is monitoring the Kuwaiti's condition since he was attacked by Egyptians on Friday morning following an altercation at a petrol station.

In addition to following up on the investigations conducted by the relevant authorities, the ambassador said the embassy ensured the victim got the necessary health care after he was hospitalized.

The Kuwaiti citizen's condition is stable, and he left the hospital Saturday, according to Al-Ghanim. He praised the efforts of the security authorities in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, and the speed of arresting the perpetrators, bringing them to justice, and cooperating with the embassy.

Ambassador Al-Ghanim contacted the citizen, and the aggressors were referred to the Public Prosecution for investigation.

According to sources, the 25-year-old citizen is in Egypt for tourism.
