After 2020 No Non-university Expatriates Over 60
The Arabic local news paper Alrai reported that The Public Authority for Manpower decided to limit the extension of work permits to those who reached 60 years and over by the end of this year, while the Ministry of Interior extended three months the time limit granted to owners of residency and expired visit cards.
Informed sources revealed that the Ministry of Interior, in a humanitarian step, decided to extend the deadline granted to those with residency and expired visit cards who are inside the country for an additional 3 months until the end of next November, after it was due to expire on August 31, which would have caused A problem for tens of thousands of expatriates, in light of the inability of most of them to leave the country, with the continued ban on operating commercial aviation to 32 countries.
The Director of the Public Authority for Manpower, Ahmed Al-Mousa, issued an administrative circular regarding the list of rules and procedures for granting permission to work, in implementation of the decision to prohibit the issuance of a work permit for those who have reached the age of 60 years and over, for holders of a high school diploma or less, and the equivalent certificates, requiring that the Extending a work permit for those who have reached the age of 60 until the end of the current year.
The circular allowed the issuance of work permits to those who reached the age of fifty-nine and those who reached the age of sixty, for a period of only one year until the date of the application of the ban on January 1, 2021.Informed sources said that the current circular aims to give a deadline for those covered by the decision until the end of 2020 to arrange their conditions before departure, noting Noting that after this date, only those who have university degrees will remain in the country after this date.
