Adsani Has Disclosed His Intention To Grill Al-roudhan Regarding The ‘al-durra’ Scandal
In line with his aggressive stance, MP Riyadh Al-Adsani has disclosed his intention to grill another minister. He said that the Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan should have looked into the criminal report regarding the Al-Durra board of directors, and since nothing has been done, and the issue has become a scandal, he will grill the minister. He stressed the minister has neither looked into the issue nor taken any action in the face of indisputable evidence.
In another development, while addressing the charity work bill during its meeting Tuesday, the Social Affairs Committee of the National Assembly asserted further deliberations are needed to assure that the bill has the best possible outcome. In the presence of the Minister of Social Affairs Sa’ad Al-Karraz, the bill was withdrawn from the National Assembly agenda during the last legislative term due to controversy over numerous articles, especially that which stipulated the incarceration of anyone that criticizes or doubts charity work.
Committee Rapporteur MP Osama Al- Shaheen stated the committee has postponed voting on the bill, since the meeting was dedicated to receive and discuss the government’s input on some of the amendments proposed by MP, which fortunately concluded with the government’s agreement.
