A Twitter User Jailed For 3 Years For Offending Leadership

The Criminal Court sentenced a Twitter user to three years in prison with hard labor for posting statements deemed offensive to the essence and authority of HH the Amir. Case files indicate that the Public Prosecution leveled charges against the Twitter user for posting messages on his Twitter account, as he used words deemed offensive to the essence of HH the Amir and his authority. The defendant denied the charges when he appeared before the prosecution and the court.
