A truck driver was arrested in Khafji for trying to smuggle an Egyptian through Salmi border. Securitymen assigned at Khafji checkpoint in Saudi Arabia ordered the Egyptian to return to Kuwait as his passport was not stamped by Kuwaiti authorities at the border between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
It turned out that he is wanted by law for involvement in several cases and he has been banned from travelling. During interrogation, the officers discovered that the Egyptian paid 10,000 pounds to facilitate his departure from Kuwait.
A security source disclosed the passport officer closely examined the seals on the passports of the truck driver and the Egyptian, leading to the discovery that the latter travelled out of Kuwait illegally. The driver and the Egyptian were referred to the concerned security department for legal action.
