To facilitate travellers and keep up with arrivals and departures for New Year's holiday 2023, Kuwait International Airport has prepared at its maximum level of readiness.

According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, 139,000 passengers will travel through Kuwait Airport, departing and arriving on 1,284 flights between December 29 and January 1, 2023. In terms of reservations, Dubai, Doha, Cairo, Istanbul, and Jeddah are the top destinations. There are 642 flights departing with about 78,000 passengers and 642 flights arriving with about 61,000 passengers.

Al Qabas reports that Kuwaitis and expats are increasingly looking to spend their holidays outside Kuwait, so the operational sector is prepared to handle the movement of travelers during holidays. Field plans are being implemented round the clock in order to regulate the movement of passengers at the airport, as the number of airport employees will be doubled at the gates, in the transit area, and in the departure and arrival areas.

At peak times, additional "counters" were operated to facilitate procedures and ensure a speedy completion of the work at the arrival and departure halls, in coordination with the Ministries of Customs and Interior.
