The ministry stated that the number of swabs conducted during the past 24 hours amounted to 5583, bringing the total number of examinations since the beginning of the pandemic so far to one million 62 thousand and 76 laboratory examinations, and thus the percentage of new infections from the swabs reached 7.2 percent.
The Ministry of Health renewed its call on citizens and residents to persist in adopting all preventive measures, to avoid contact with others, and to ensure the implementation of the physical distancing strategy.
On the other hand, the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs, Dr. Buthaina Al-Mudhaf said that laxity in following health requirements negatively affects the high prevalence of “Covid 19” and the increase in the number of cases.
Al-Mudhaf said, in a press statement on the sidelines of the awareness campaign organized by the Health Promotion Department, in cooperation with the Infection Prevention Department, about the need to adhere to health requirements to combat Corona, that the Ministry of Health has set general preventive requirements and guidelines to urge workers to adhere to them to prevent the virus.
In a related context, the mobile team of the Public Health Services in the Capital Health Region, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs, conducted a campaign to vaccinate winter respiratory diseases for inmates of social care homes, as part of the Ministry of Health’s fight against seasonal diseases.
