A New Service For Bedridden Citizens Is Introduced By The Moh
Dr. Khaled Al-Saeed, the Minister of Health, presented a new bed-bound care service for citizens in accordance with the updated procedures to include home visits as well as the provision of multidisciplinary integrated health services within the framework of the New Kuwait Vision 2035 for improving health services for citizens as well as providing them according to international standards.
Al-Saeed said in a statement today that this is being done to achieve sustainable development goals and promote a decent life for everyone. He spoke from the perspective of the Ministry of Health, reports an Arabic daily.
In addition to periodic medical visits, this service provides oral, dental, physiotherapy and therapeutic nutrition services as well as followup on chronic conditions, medications and treatments.
Amid this situation, he appreciated the role of the Central Administration of Primary Health Care and the preparations that it had made for launching the new service. He emphasized that health care centers were the first line of defense for the health system.
Dr Dina al-Dhubaib, who heads the Central Department of Primary Health Care, explained that an integrated multidisciplinary team consists of a family physician, dentist, physical therapist, pharmacist, nurse, laboratory technician, and nutritionist.
According to Al-Dhubaib, one can either apply for the service through the specific website for that, or by contacting the local health center, depending on the residence area.
Unless there is a medical emergency, she said, the service request can be made through the website from Sunday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., except Thursday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The medical reports are attached to the references.
This service is not applicable to emergencies, as it is limited to periodic visits.
