A Kuwaiti Man Stays In A Hotel Suite For Over 3 Months, But He Can't Afford The Charges

25 May 2022 Kuwait

The Kuwaiti newspaper reported that a Kuwaiti had lived at a hotel for 97 days under the guise of a diplomat, but refused to pay the bill.

In its report, Al Anba cited a security source as saying that hotel management failed to demand settlement of the guest's payment since the guest appeared to be wealthy.

It was KD10,000 (approximately Dh120,000) that was not paid.

According to a police complaint, the hotel said that the man hasn't paid for his suit he rented on February 16. A source says the man told police he couldn't afford to pay the bill at this time.

An investigation will also be conducted into the citizen's alleged impersonation of a diplomat by the hotel, the source said, adding that legal proceedings are underway.

We don't know the name of the hotel or the man's occupation.
