11 May 2016 Kuwait

The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance which acquitted a Kuwaiti citizen of charges of nonpayment of a telephone bill amounting to KD 15,281 to Ministry of Communications.

During the court session, Lawyer Ahmad Al-Failakawi, who represented the Kuwaiti citizen, presented a set of documents which proved that the ministry demanded his client to pay the bill after 15 years of consumption due to which such a demand is considered invalid as per Article 438 of the Civil Law.

He also presented a document which indicated the dates the telephone service was launched and stopped.
