9 Fishing Vessels Seized After Crossing Territorial Waters Illegally

Kuwait's coast guard has managed to seize 9 fishing vessels after they had crossed the country's marine borders illegally, Ministry of Interior said on Thursday. The radar systems monitored the vessels while fishing outside the borders of the State of Kuwait, added the ministry's security media department in a statement.
The vessels did not carry any legal permits to allow them entry and exit to and from the country, it noted. All fishing tools and equipment were confiscated and there would be an action against the violators, the statement pointed out.
The vessels were moved to Sabah Al-Ahmad naval base. The ministry called on all people to abide by relevant regulations and laws, stressing that those who commit violations will face liability.
