89,936 Teachers To Return To Work From Sept 1
From Tuesday, September 1, a total of 89,936 teachers and administrators in all educational levels will return to their schools, announcing the start of the new academic year 2020/2021 with distance education system, while 106,400 public education students will enroll in 856 schools on October 4 to complete the start of the new year, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to a source from the educational sector, Ministry of Education adopted a series of measures prior to the start of the new school year, the most important of which is the sterilization of schools in all educational zones, and the distribution of a reasonable number of service workers to clean them prior to the arrival of members of the educational body, as well as supporting the school fund in each school with a special budget for health requirements and for facing the COVID-19 crisis.
Regarding the new academic year, the source said the Department of Coordination and Follow-up of Public Education in the ministry had concluded some necessary measures to confront the crisis of shortage of teachers in some specializations, including the issuance of external transfer decisions in the first week of the new school year.
He affirmed that the educational zones will carry out internal transfers to fill the shortage and ensure equal distribution of male and female teachers, especially for some necessary specializations.
The source said it is expected that the quota crisis will exist in the new academic year, despite these measures, due to a huge shortage of teaching staff members in all educational zones.
