7,970 Expat Employees To Be Terminated By The End Of Year
The Civil Service Bureau has already terminated the employment of 6127 expatriates working in government agencies within the framework of the Kuwaitization plan and by end of this year it is expected that the employment of a total of 7,970 expatriates would be terminated, Al-Rai reported.
The Director of the Job Department at the Bureau, Aisha Al-Mutawa, stated that the services of 6127 expatriates were terminated in the first three years of the Kuwaitization plan which was approved in the year 2017, she further stated that 1,840 expats will be terminated this year.
Al-Mutawa said that 308,000 Kuwaitis work in government agencies affiliated with the Civil Service Bureau, compared to 71,000 expat employees. Of these 71,000 around 31,000 work for the Ministry of Health, and 24,000 are teachers. 6,000 are working as service jobs and others as correspondences, delegates, or drivers.
From 71,000 expats working for Ministries 9,000 of them which is 3% of total non-Kuwaitis are divided into 16 job groups including engineer, legal, accountant, and science field. The policy of replacement has already been implemented against them.
In the Civil Service Bureau, 917 Kuwaitis and 37 expats are currently employed, there are only 4 Kuwaiti consultants who carry out the research needed by the Civil Service Commission.
Two days ago a list of required and unwanted job specialization was announced. Those who apply for specialization will be registered in the bureau systems. This also applies to graduates of the Ministry of Education.
