7,000 Kg Of Spoiled Fish From Iran Confiscated, Destroyed

Imported Food Department confiscated a cargo containing 7,000 kilograms of spoiled fish that arrived at Kuwait International Airport from Iran, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

According to the Director of the department Ali Al-Khanfoor, the cargo, which contained different kinds of fish, was checked. A foul smell was emitting from the cargo, and the color of the fish had changed. The members of the concerned committee then reached an agreement to destroy the entire cargo of fish.

Al-Khanfoor affirmed the keenness of the concerned authorities in Kuwait to ensure increased inspection at all checkpoints of the country in order to avoid such cargoes from entering the local market with the aim of upholding public health safety.
