6,479 Kuwaiti Employees Resigned
Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Hamid Al-Azmi, in response to a parliamentary question, revealed that 6,479 Kuwaiti employees resigned in the last three years, says Al-Seyassah.
The minister explained that the number of Kuwaiti employees who resigned in 2016 was 1,780, which increased to 2,489 in 2017, and reduced to 2,210 in 2018.
They include those employees whose names were added to the list of employees who completed 34 years of service and were on the verge of being referred for retirement.
Meanwhile, he revealed that the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has approved to increase the percentage of Arabic language teachers of intermediate and secondary stages from 30 percent to 40 percent of the total staff, considering it as a rare specialization.
The minister said CSC will retain the required percentage for other specializations, which is 30 percent for English language teachers of elementary, intermediate and secondary stages, French language teachers of secondary stage, Mathematics teachers of elementary, intermediate and secondary stages, science teachers of intermediate stage, physics, chemistry and biology teachers of secondary stage, and female physics teachers of secondary stage. He disclosed that the ministry called for increasing the percentage of teachers for all entire subjects to 40 percent in order to encourage Kuwaitis to join educational colleges, adding that 646 Kuwaiti teachers and 105 GCC teachers receive rare specialization allowance
