60+ Renewal From Next Sunday; Insurance Fee May Go Up To 500 Kd

As the Minister of Justice Jamal Al-Jalawi announced on Monday allowing issuance of work permits for expatriates aged 60 and above, who hold a high school degree or a lower educational degree for a KD 250 fee with a full health insurance from one of the insurance companies, listed under Kuwait Stock Exchange, insurance sector revealed that so far, no official communication has been made with the sector companies to determine the mechanism of insurance policies for the 60 expatriates. However the sources suggested that the price of the policy may ranges between 400 and 500 dinars per year.

Sources also pointed that the renewal of work permits for the 60-year-old will start from next Sunday, after publishing the decision in the official newspaper “Kuwait Al-Youm”.

Earlier the minister said that the decision will be applied for a period of one year, an will be reviewed during this period according to the conditions of the labor market, and its consequences in light of the studies that will be conducted in this regard.
