6 Kuwaiti Teenagers Arrested Over Links To Daesh

Boys lured to embrace ideology through video games

Kuwait’s State Security Service on Wednesday arrested six #Kuwaiti teenagers in connection with the terrorist Daesh group, Al Qabas Arabic daily reported.

Quoting a source at the state security, the newspaper said that the arrests were made after it was found that the teenagers were lured to embrace the Daesh ideology though video games. A squad of security officers raided the house of one of the teenagers in Al Ahmadi after obtaining a permission from public prosecution.

They arrested the teenager and referred him to the Juvenile Investigation Office where he admitted that he has been in contact with Daesh for some time.

The teenager told interrogators that a person communicated with him through one of the famous electronic games, and deliberately joined his team during the game. The Daesh man then communicated with him through social media platforms and asked him to embrace the ideology of Daesh.

He was also asked to convince his friends to join Daesh. The teenager said he succeeded in convincing five others.
