5 Years Imprisonment To Customs Inspector For Forgery
The Criminal Court, headed by Counselor Mohammad Ghazi Al-Mutairi, has sentenced a customs inspector to five years imprisonment in a case of forgery, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added the suspect was involved in forging bank notes (KD 20 denomination) and US dollars.
The daily added, five men were involved in the scam. Two of them have been sentenced to four months and one month imprisonment respectively, while the two others were set free citing lack of evidence.
Meanwhile, emergency team from Hawalli Municipality recently conducted an inspection campaign leading to the demolition of 330 violating billboards at roadsides and open spaces. They also issued 7 citations and shut down two café joints, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Team Leader Ahmad Ramadan explained that violations recorded included carrying out activities contrary to the license’s specifications. He noted 5 warnings were issued against encroachment on state property. Officials from the Ahmadi Municipality issued 39 citations against shops that failed to maintain external billboards and those including or conducting activities that were not specified in their licenses. Some of them were found culpable of using workers who are not registered under their names.
