5 Expats Sentenced To 3 Years Jail For Human Trafficking

The Court of Cassation upheld the verdict issued by the Court of Appeals, which sentenced five expatriates to three-year imprisonment with hard labor for human trafficking.

According to the case file, security operatives got wind of the defendants’ heinous activities and kept a tab on them. They were later rounded up for forging official documents to secure visas for 22 persons from whom they collected KD 1,500 per transaction. They were also charged with other activities related to human trafficking.
