45 Million Dinars Were Wasted During Corona

After expressing an opinion on 1531 issues, worth 1.9 billion dinars, during the period from the first of April until the end of last October, the period that witnessed the spread of the Corona crisis, the Audit Bureau revealed that it is the most dangerous entity in the country to violate the law in 13 topics, through contracts It results in the disbursement of sums of public funds, or the possibility of disbursing them, unlawfully, in a waste of 45 million dinars.

In a statement yesterday, the assistant auditor at the Department of Pre-Supervision of Economic Affairs at the Bureau, Shahd Al-Munais, said that its department notified the Bureau's Violations Department that some bodies had completed special engagements with 28 issues, worth 63 million dinars, before obtaining the Bureau's approval.

 

Al-Munis added that “Accounting” rejected 77 articles with 230 million, after its contractual procedures were found to be incorrect, explaining that the highest percentage of those rejected subjects were for the Ministry of Health, with 40 topics, valued at 142 million, and workers were refused for the security and safety of the oil sector complex. And the Petroleum Training Center, with a value of 2.5 million, belongs to the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation for several reasons.

She pointed out that the "accounting" returned the papers of 491 subjects, representing 32% of what was presented to him, for not providing him with the necessary papers and documents, and related documents, data and clarifications, adding that prior monitoring provided the public treasury during the past fiscal year about 52 million dinars.

She stated that the Bureau approved 64% of the total issues presented to it, with a value of 1.2 billion dinars, noting that this approval came after verifying the validity of the contracting procedures carried out by the concerned authorities, "and the subsequent supervision will follow up on their scrutiny."
