40,000 Indian Domestic Workers Left Kuwait

In Kuwait, the number of domestic workers decreased by about 75,000 workers from 2021 to 2022. In 2020, there were 668,600 domestic workers

In 2021, 56.5% of those who left the country were women, as 42,360 women left the country. During the same time period, 32,600 men left the country.

Additionally, around 53% of those who left the country were Indian nationals, meaning more than half of them were domestic workers. In Kuwait, the number of Indian domestic workers dropped from 319,300 in 2020 to 279,590 in 2021. There was a reduction of 7,100 Filipinos and 4,580 Bangladeshis working as domestic workers.
