40 Websites Accused Of Spreading Rumors

01 May 2020 Crime News

Since the start of the coronavirus crisis, 40 licensed websites were referred to the Public Prosecution for propagating false news and breaking the law, reported Al Rai daily.

The daily mentioned that a ministerial source warned the public against rumors released from websites created for political and commercial purposes that challenge the government and its ministers. The Ministry of Information will take steps to tackle the websites.

The daily reported, the source stated that anything that unnerves people’s confidence in the government, the state, or civil society, or helps in spreading abuse to a party, state, or community, will be answered with a firmness.

The ministerial source stressed that the government works as a team and there are those with selfish interests, who are owners of accounts, some in Kuwait and some of them from abroad. The main thing of concern is that the government is homogeneous, and this crisis has united the ministers together in an unprecedented state of solidarity.
