4 Wedding Halls Donated By Kuwaitis To Open Soon
Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Administrative Development Sector and acting Assistant Undersecretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Social Affairs Abdulaziz Al-Mutairi revealed that some benevolent individuals donated four new wedding halls, which will be operational soon and will be in addition to the chain of halls throughout the country, reports Al-Jarida daily.
While affirming that the wedding halls are available for citizens to use during social occasions, Al-Mutairi disclosed Dashti’s sons donated one of the four halls located in an area measuring 800 square meters in Dasma. He said 95 percent of the hall has been completed and it will open soon. He added the hall will be a beautiful landmark, considering it is being built based on the latest architectural design while maintaining the Kuwaiti heritage. He went on to say that Talal Khalifa Al-Jeri donated Al-Jeri wedding hall in Mangaf to serve those residing in Ahmadi Governorate and the neighboring governorates, confirming the completion of construction work and all that remains to be done is the connection of electricity.
He added the third hall is called ‘Al-Wazzan’ and it is located on an area measuring 1,000 square meters in Salmiya, indicating the connection of electricity is ongoing and the hall will open soon. He said Ibrahim Al-Baghli donated the fourth hall and it is named ‘Al-Baghli’ Hall, which will serve those residing in Rumaithiya and the surrounding areas, adding that site preparation has been completed while the excavation and foundation works have started. He cited ministerial resolution number 77/A of 2014 on the conditions and regulations for the construction of wedding halls.
He disclosed one of the articles of the resolution stipulate that the donation of wedding halls is regarded as a charitable act based on the donor’s desire to promote solidarity between members of society. Upon completion of construction and furnishing, the ministry shall take over hall, manage it and carry out maintenance works to ensure it is always ready for any occasion, he added. He explained that a donor who wants to establish a wedding hall must submit an official letter to the ministry, which will then request the Kuwait Municipality to allocate a plot big enough to serve the residents in the area.
