4 Companies Competing To Build Al-mutlaa Wastewater Plant
The Central Agency for Public Tenders closed bidding for a tender to construct a wastewater treatment plant in Al-Mutla’a, with the estimated values of about KD 150 million, Al-Rai reported.
Informed sources in the agency revealed to the daily that four companies submitted their bids out of 10 companies that had previously purchased the specification brochure, to compete for the tender for the station, with a capacity of 400,000 cubic meters of water per day.
The source explained that 6 companies asked the agency to extend the closing date of the tender, but the agency closed it on time without additional extension.
The Al-Mutlaa plant project also includes the design and construction of a major electrical transmission station to produce 16 megawatts, and the design and construction of a treated water control and distribution system consisting of a treated water control center, with a 40-kilometer line connecting to the Bird Sanctuary, and the South Al Mutlaa residential reservoirs.
Renewable energy will also be used in the Madinah purification plant project, by providing 40 percent of the electrical energy needed to operate the plant through the use of clean energy from three sources.
The project will generate electrical energy, by producing methane gas through the anaerobic treatment of sludge. Wind and Solar energy will also be used.
