360 Mall Ramadan Social Health Activities
360 MALL – Kuwait’s iconic mall by the Tamdeen Group - is embracing the spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan through a variety of social initiatives embodying the ideas of good health and hospitality.
As part of the Tamdeen Group’s corporate strategy of creating value for the community it serves, the mall is hosting the Rijeemy Walkathon in partnership with Rijeemy Centre, a popular nutrition and diet clinic, to encourage society to fight obesity.
Participants are welcome at 360 MALL to partake in the walkathon from 5.00–6.00 pm daily, except on weekends, until July 6. Mall tenants are also being encouraged to join in the activities.
In late 2014, research from the Food Security Index ranked Kuwait as the most obese nation in the world, with a 42.8 percent obesity rate.
Claudia Lopusinska, Marketing Manager, 360 MALL, said: “360 MALL is known to be customer-service oriented and we cater to the wishes of our customers quite seriously. This Ramadan we are fulfilling the need of the hour – which is to help people to enjoy longer and healthier lifestyles through our partnership with Rijeemy.”
The walkathon, which has become the biggest health initiative in Kuwait and is held every year in Ramadan, was first initiated 5 years starting with 100 enthusiasts at the inaugural event. This year, over 2,500 Kuwait residents are participating in the event.
The program is sponsored by several big corporates this year such as Zain Telecommunication and Ghalya Technology and is supported by the Ministry of Youth, Al Rai newspaper, VIM Company, Equate, Al Wawan, ATC, Ata Hub, Fitness First, Infunity, Art Studio, Nike and Glaciar, to name a few.
The following days will also include many other fun activities such as treasure hunts, group exercises, programs for ladies, and free consultations with dieticians. Valuable prizes will be given away to participants.
The mall’s Ramadan campaign kicked off on June 20 with the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) World Refugee Day, advocating the plight of refugees from around the world.
Lopusinska said: “We find it of utmost importance to highlight the plight of our brothers and sisters in the Middle East and it was to this end that we kicked off a humanitarian campaign, in partnership with the UNHCR, on World Refugee Day.”
As part of its Ramadan activities at the mall, 360 MALL has also partnered with Kuwait TV through the Ministry of Information to host the popular TV show ‘Ghabga’, live from the mall; several Kuwaiti celebrities are part of the series.
Shoppers at the mall are being treated to complementary coffee and dates from the two hospitality kiosks at the ground level of 360 MALL for the holy month of Ramadan, in partnership with Rotana Hotel.
These initiatives will be supplemented by another activity wherein children will be given the opportunity to receive free traditional henna drawings on their palms.
