336 Shops Closed For Violating Coronavirus-preventative Rules
The official spokesperson of Kuwait Municipality Muhammad Al-Mutairi announced that 336 commercial shops in six governorates were closed because the owners of these shops did not follow rules and regulations as well as preventive measures related to curbing the spread of coronavirus.
He told KUNA that these shops included restaurants, hair salons for both men and women, health institutes, gaming centers, and mobile shops. AlMutairi explained emergency teams from Inspection and Follow-up of Municipality Service Department conducted inspection tours of commercial shops in all governorates.
They so far checked 6,098 shops and issued 1,832 warnings. A total of 60 vital facilities, cooperative societies located in various places in Kuwait, public markets as well as 163,877 garbage containers were cleaned and sterilized.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality revealed that the emergency team of Hawally Municipality conducted a tour of all the shops of the governorate to make sure the owners of those shops were following the rules and regulations of Kuwait Municipality to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Head of the emergency team Ahmad Ramadan declared that the tour conducted by the emergency team resulted in the inspection of 91 shops, closure of seven shops – two restaurants, one accessories store, one barbershop, one mobile shop, one flower shop, and a ladies salon).
Deputy Head of Farwaniya and Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipalities Amaar Al-Amaar appreciated the achievements of these two governorates’ inspection teams during the last week for curbing the spread of coronavirus.
The observation unit in the two governorates issued 586 warnings, closed 635 shops and cafés, issued 302 citations, closed down ten amusement parks, dispersed 293 gatherings, cleaned 18,827 containers, and washed and sterilized 28,827 containers in residential areas and on main streets.
The Public Department for Cleaning Affairs cleaned and sterilized 23,557 containers, issued 546 warnings, closed 562 shops, and sterilized 5,270 containers.
